PSALM 62

I. A TRANSLATION by Dann McCreary

To the Chief Musician, On Jedutun, A Psalm of David

Toward God Alone my soul is at peace, From Him is my deliverance.

He Only is my Rock and my Deliverance My High Place, I will not be greatly shaken.

How long will you attack a man? To kill him, all of you? (Like a wall bent down, like a wobbling stone wall).

Surely from his exaltation they conspire to cast him down; they take pleasure in a lie. With their mouth they bless (cursing in their heart).

Only from God is my soul's rest, Because from Him is my hope.

He Alone is my Rock and my Deliverance, My High Place; I will not be rattled.

From God my Deliverance and my Glory flow, The Rock of my Strength, my Refuge is in God.

Trust in Him in all times, O People, Pour out before His face your hearts, God is a Refuge to us.

Nothing at all, are the sons of Adam; a mere lie, sons of a man; In the balance they go up, less than nothing.

Don't trust in opression, nor become vain in robbery. If you should prosper, don't set your heart on it!

Once God has spoken, twice I have heard this; Strength belongs to God.

And to You, Lord, belongs steadfast love, Because You repay to each man according to his work.
