PSALM 2

I. A Partial TRANSLATION by Dann McCreary

1 To what end are the nations restless
And the peoples muttering worthlessness?

2 The kings of the earth take their stand,
And the dignitaries converse among themselves
against Yaweh and against His Annointed One.

3 Let's tear up their chains!
Let's loosen their ropes off of us!

4 The One who sits in the heavens will laugh,
He will ridicule them to their face.

5 Then He will speak to them in His anger,
and in His glowing fury He will terrify them.

6 "I have consecrated My King upon the holy hill of Zion."

7 Write upon the definition Yaweh,
YOU are my son, TODAY I have begotten you.

8 Ask from Me, and I will give to you the nations as your heritage,
And as your property the extremities of the earth.

9

10 Therefore, O kings, ...,
Teach yourselves, O judges of the earth.

11 ... Yaweh

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you perish in the road,
Because his anger will blaze up quickly!
Happy are all who seek refuge in Him!
