Dear Family,

We are greatly grieved and distressed at the news we received yesterday.
Suzanne called and told us that an X-ray taken yesterday shows that the
tumors in Skylar's lungs have doubled in size since his last X-ray several
weeks ago. His right lung is still mostly clear, but his left lung is almost
entirely filled with tumor.

Consequently, Skylar's doctor estimates perhaps one more month of life
for Skylar. We plan to drive up to visit him for the weekend. Please pray
for Skylar and for us.

Lord Jesus, I don't understand why You are doing this. "Even now I know
that whatever You ask of God, God will give You." - John 11:22 And so
I ask, if possible, that you may yet spare Skylar's life.

"Did I not say to you, if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"
- John 11:40 O Lord, help us to see Your glory in all of your acts.
We believe, help our unbelief. Please pray for us that our faith may
not fail, even as You prayed for Peter.

O Lord, if you are going to take our dear child, please be close to him
and comfort him! Please spare him from great pain and distress!
May he be precious in Your sight, may You and our loved ones who
are with you welcome Skylar into Your presence!

"Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; My eye
is wasted away from grief, my soul and my body also. For
my life is spent with sorrow And my years with sighing;
My strength has failed because of my iniquity, And my
body has wasted away."

"But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD, I say, "'You are
my God.'' My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the
hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me. Make
Your face to shine upon Your servant; Save me in Your
lovingkindness."

"How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up
for those who fear You, Which You have wrought for those
who take refuge in You, Before the sons of men! You hide
them in the secret place of Your presence from the
conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter
from the strife of tongues." - Psalm 31:9-10,14-16,19-20

Dear Lord, please hide Skylar in the secret place of Your
presence.

Thank you, dear family, for standing with us in prayer at
this dark time.
