April 9, 2000

Dear Family,

It's Sunday afternoon after 4PM and this note will be short because I'm 
dictating it. Skylar had a good and stable night last night. I'm thankful 
that even though they have turned him over on his back again, his 
ventilator settings have been able to remain the same.

Last night they started administering a strong medication for fungus 
infections. Please pray that his medication will be effective in clearing 
out any traces of the fungus and that it will not spread to his eyes, 
heart, or liver.

Please pray also, especially for Skylar's friend Peter. Peter is a little 
younger than Skye, and has been his roommate and friend at various times 
here at the hospital. Peter also underwent chemotherapy and a bone marrow 
transplant, and his liver and lungs are quite sick. He is also on a 
ventilator. Please ask the Lord to heal his liver and lungs and ask that 
his parents might be comforted by trusting in God.

Pam and I are debating whether or not to come home for awhile.   Please ask 
God to grant us good judgement and that if we come home we will trust God 
for Skylar's continued safety.

Please also pray for Jonathan Jamison, who has been suffering from severe 
headaches, stomachaches, and fevers.  Ask for God's wisdom for Tom and Jan 
(his parents), and for the doctors who are trying to figure out what's 
wrong.
