March 30, 2000 Dear Fellow Believers, Our grandson Skylar, who is 5 1/2 years old, is very gravely ill. His life is being sustained by a ventilator here at Stanford University children's hospital. I was reading in Luke recently about the men who were trying to bring their friend to Jesus to be healed; they were unable to reach Jesus because of the crowd pressing around and into the house. In their desperation, they sought another way to reach Him. The way they found was to climb with their friend to the roof, dig through the tiles, and then lower their friend into the presence of Jesus. I think I feel like those men must have felt; I am crowded away from Jesus personal presence and healing power by a separation of thousands of years and many miles; and yet I know that He is still able to rescue my grandson. So I am writing to those on the FIRE list. I am looking for that rooftop through which I can lower my grandson into Christ's healing presence. I know that God is not constrained to save by many or by few; I know that simply asking repeatedly with vain repetition is not the solution; but I ask you, if you would, to please pass this request on to those in your congregations. Please ask your prayer warriors to lift my grandson to the Lord in prayer, that it might please the Lord to rescue his soul from death. I know that at times recorded in the New Testament the Lord was pleased to answer the prayers raised by the church united in petition to Him. Thank you for your consideration and your aid at this time. Sincerely in Christ, -Dann McCreary member of Grace Bible Church
