March 27, 2000 Dear Family, It is 3:15 on Monday afternoon. Skylar is about the same today... some of the ventilator parameters get adjusted one way and the other, but there have been no major improvements. Pam is still at the hotel recovering from a cold. I have been dropping in and seeing Skylar briefly at intervals today, and in between I've been trying to get some work done on a notebook computer. I am very thankful that I have work that can be done remotely so that I am able to earn a little even though I am far from home. I read passages in Genesis last evening, recalling occasions when God graciously restored children to their parents - Isaac, when he stayed Abraham's hand - Ishmael when he opened Hagar's eyes - Joseph (and Benjamin) restored to Jacob after Jacob was sure that Joseph was long dead. I have asked God to likewise restore Skylar to us even though my hope has been so discouraged. "Why art thou cast down, O my soul, and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God, Who is the help of thy countenance and thy God." "To the Lord our God belong escapes from death." Thanks for continuing to pray and thanks for your emails. Love, -Dann
