March 25, 2000 Dear Family, We (Pam and I) are leaving for Stanford in a few minutes. I spoke with Suzanne this morning and was a little encouraged at this news: A recent X-Ray of Skylar's chest shows a slight improvement. They have begun giving him a strong antibiotic intravenously (it is called Septra) and the Pediatric ICU supervising doctor thinks that the lung problem may now be some form of pneumonia bacteria. If so, there is more hope of defeating the infection. Skylar's ventilator PEEP is up to 14, but the oxygen is down to 90% now, and there is some indication that his lungs may be opening up again - his blood oxygen saturation was up to 99%, which is good. Thank you for continuing to struggle with us in your prayers. Love, -Dann
