Evening of March 24, 2000

Dear Family,

My heart is heavy tonight.  Skylar's condition has worsened again.  His vent oxygen
setting is all the way to 100% and the pressure is up to 11 as of this afternoon when
Pam last spoke with Suzanne.

There was a care conference (Suzanne and the care-givers - doctors, therapists, etc.)
at which the doctors were mostly negative.  Only the intensive care ward supervising
doctor offered any encouragement at all - he plans to order some more tests to see
if this setback is due to some undetected infection.  Also, they have once more added
some antibiotics to the mix of treatments.

We are deeply distressed.  I have been in prayer all day.  We expect to leave for
Stanford once again tomorrow afternoon.  "To the Lord our God belong escapes
from death." - please pray with me that the Lord will yet mercifully deliver Skylar.
