Evening of March 21, 2000

Dear Family,

We are pleased and thankful that they have reduced Skylar's ventilator
pressure (PEEP) to 9 now - a total of three points less than yesterday!
And so we are encouraged as we prepare to leave.  They are also now
going to completely suspend the paralytic drugs, which means that he
will be initiating his own breaths to a great extent from now on.  He
has already begun to do so.

Sometime between 7 and 7:30 PM we hope to hit the road for home.

Thank you for all your prayers.  Please rejoice with us and praise God
for his lovingkindness to Skylar and to us and for his mercies.  Please
continue to pray for steady recovery for Skylar and for a safe re-awakening
when the time is right.

We hope to return here this coming weekend, God willing.
