[The following is intended for many people, so please bear with the "form letter" format.] March 1, 2000 Dear Family & Friends, Here is the latest information on Skylar. According to Pam, Skylar's condition is getting worse every day as a result of the extremely powerful chemicals/chemotherapy administered. Although we were told to expect this, it is nonetheless very difficult for us to see and know what he is going through. And although the chemotherapy will end tomorrow (Wednesday), his condition will worsen still until the toxic chemicals have run their course in his body. Skylar is now in full isolation, with blood counts below 500. This will not change for quite some time, until his bone marrow transplant - which is still scheduled for Thursday - has an opportunity to take affect over a period of several months, potentially. Today (Tuesday), with the exception of a couple good moments wherein he was able to play with a ball, he was subject to many bouts of vomiting, aching pains, bad headaches, skin peeling within his mouth and throat, bleeding diarrhea, and a continued bad rash on his body. Everything is expected to get worse over the next few days. We would ask for you continued prayers for Skylar, his mother and brother, his grandparents, and all of his family. Thank you for your support during these very difficult periods. Sincerely, The McCreary Family
